Have officially been turned on to a new genre of books! Thanks for the good read! Can't wait for the next installment! Mass Market Paperback Verified Purchase. I thought the first one was bad, but I thought I would give this author another chance. Sorry I wasted my money. Every urban fantasy cliche and then some was thrown on the pages of this book, maybe the author was hoping something would stick. Unfortunately, all she ends up with is a mishmash of a plot, and too many things going on for the reader to be interested in any part of it.
I'm new to this genre but I am thankful I was introduced to it. Waiting for the 3rd part of the series!
The Demon Hunt
Im a new but true fan! One person found this helpful.
DeMona Sanchez is on a mission. She wants to find the people who murdered her father and wreak vengeance. To do this, she needs to find Redfeather, the name upon her father's dying lips. Gabriel Redfeather is a normal college kid who likes to study languages, old legends, and long dead cultures.

Imagine his surprise when DeMona crashes into him in the library with an object wrapped in hemp paper. The twisted fork the item in the hemp paper has foreign letters on it that only the moonlight reveals and that only Gabriel can translate. But Gabriel isn't sure what it means and convinces DeMona to go with him to seek out his grandfather, one who may be able to help them. But before they can get to their destination, they are attacked by seekers, demons, and the fork Gabriel uses to defend himself transforms itself into a trident.
The trident speaks to him in his mind, and it fills him with power and confidence. When the legend is revealed by Gabriel's grandfather, he knows he must put his books aside and start to fight. If he fails, humanity loses. With DeMona by his side, Gabriel's about to lose his geeky persona and take on a whole new super hero complex. It has great potential, as the first book is usually the world-building. The characters are gritty with many interesting conflicts.
Paranormal and urban fantasy readers will enjoy this new take on an old legend. A competent editor is what this author needs.

- The Demon Hunt (Dark Storm, book 2) by Kris Greene.
There's the possibility of a decent short story, but the author crams in too much, overlaps, overruns, overpowers and overdoes everything about it. It reads more like fanfiction than a real novel. I find myself honestly shocked that this made it onto shelves when so many other good mid-list authors are being put on the back burner or dropped entirely right now. Gabriel Redfeather just wants to go back to being a computer-bookworm geek, but he knows he can never go home to that existence ever since the former Hunter student met hybrid demon De Mona Sanchez and she introduced him to the attacking demon horde.
The slaughter was horrific see The Dark Storm as they and their allies need a new sanctuary to regroup, but he surprised his kick his butt mentor and her allies with his use of Nimrod the ancient trident and thwarted attempts by the weapon's former possessor, the insane and soul trapped Bishop, from taking it.
However, there is no respite for the war weary as Redfeather's grandfather and Lucy the witch are kidnapped at a time a chasm has ripped open the barrier between dimensions. Titus the Betrayer and Goblin Prince Orden pursue mankind's last hope with diligence and vigor. The newly form group of Knights of Christ are struggle to trust one another and licking their wounds.
The plot is unique and the flow is g I didn't think this series could get any better but author Kris Greene proved me wrong. The plot is unique and the flow is great! I even find myself loving some of the bad guys. I can not wait until the third installment comes out! Jun 04, Judi rated it did not like it. It was in the dollar bin for a reason.
